Welcome to the Home Page of Bearcat Wrestling!
The Bearcats are a subsidiary of the Fords, NJ Youth
Association. We wrestle in the gymnasium of the Fords Middle School off Ford Ave. in Fords, NJ.
Our program consists of three levels of wrestling
in two different age categories.
Our Sixth grade and under program accepts
candidates with no experience from kindergarten up through the
sixth grade. We educate approximately forty wrestlers on this
level. They are divided into an "A" team and a
"B" team.
We also sponsor a Seventh and Eighth grade Team for older wrestlers.
We are part of the Mid-Jersey League which oversees competition with
teams from Edison, North Edison, North Brunswick, Sayreville, South
River, Monroe, Metuchen, Manalapan, Old Bridge, East Brunswick and
Woodbridge.
Humility--Dignity--Honor
We believe that participation in organized sports should do more than
just teach our children specific skills. Sports can and should teach
athletes, especially young ones, the principles of fair play and
sportsmanship. It should also assist in the building of character.
Wrestling, being the emotional sport it is, can lead both wrestlers
and supporters alike into behaviors that are neither acceptable or
productive in the development of character. Therefore, we at Fords
Bearcat Wrestling dedicate ourselves not only to teaching wrestling
technique, but to inculcating the principles of fair play and good
sportsmanship that seem to be lacking in much organized sport on all
levels today.

. We believe that
an athlete that is humble in victory, dignified in defeat and
honorable always will grow to be the type of citizen our country
needs to produce.
We are supported by the voluntary efforts of a dedicated group of
parents and coaches who are committed to the athletic and personal
development of our wrestlers.
We welcome communication and contact from all programs who believe

Our 2000-2001 practice schedule is Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, and Saturday.
Matches are scheduled through the Mid Jersey League administration.
